Shane Borthwick | Founder, Financial Advisor

After finishing university, Shane and his wife Stephanie stayed in New Brunswick to pursue their careers and raise a family, settling on the coast near St. George. As an entrepreneur with experience throughout the Maritime Provinces, Shane holds an undergraduate business degree from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton as well as leadership training from the Harvard Kennedy School in Boston. He has completed investment and insurance training through the Canadian Securities Institute as well as the Sustainable Investment Professional Certificate through the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University in Montreal.

Actively involved with local charitable and volunteer organizations throughout southwestern New Brunswick including the United Way, Food Bank, Emergency Planning & Preparedness Committee, Parent School Support Committee, he is committed to making a difference.  When he’s not helping clients, Shane, Stephanie and their two young daughters enjoy boating, gardening, tending their hens, cooking, traveling and time with family and friends.

 

Marcie Lewis | Manager, Marketing & Client Service

Marcie grew up in the beautiful province of Prince Edward Island. After making the trek across the Confederation Bridge to obtain her business degree from UNB Fredericton, Marcie settled in Nova Scotia with her husband Jeff, working in marketing and business development with a local municipal government. Within this role, Marcie worked closely with the small business community, connecting entrepreneurs towards collaborative marketing and development efforts. It was within this role that Marcie found her love of connecting and helping people as well as a passion for small business. Eventually Marcie, Jeff and their two young children found their way back to New Brunswick where they currently reside in the town of Rothesay.

When Marcie isn’t helping run the day to day operations of the firm, she enjoys photography, travelling to PEI and Nova Scotia to be with friends and family, and keeping up with her energetic children.

Jeremy Ackerson | Financial Advisor

Jeremy grew up in Saint John and after completing his undergraduate business degree at UNBSJ, decided to stay in his beloved hometown to begin his career. Following University he completed investment training through the Canadian Securities Institute and the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP). Jeremy has several years of experience as a Financial Advisor, helping families and individuals in the greater Saint John area define what is important to them and devise a plan to achieve what matters.

In their spare time, Jeremy and his wife Chen strive to spend as much time outdoors as possible by enjoying activities such as hiking, biking, and kayaking. Jeremy also enjoys gardening, traveling, and learning Chinese from his wife.

 

Brock Turner, Marketing Technologist | Client Services      

Brock has lived most of his life in Saint John. With a love for all things technology, after high school he decided to pursue a computer science degree from UNB Fredericton. However, Brock quickly realized that computer science wasn’t the right fit for him. His experience at UNB wasn’t all bad though, he had taken a business marketing class and fell in love. He then applied right away to NBCC Saint John’s business marketing program and found great success. Brock has a passion for marketing, graphic design, web design, and videography.

In his free time Brock enjoys skiing and hiking. He is an avid foodie and beer snob. Most weekends you can find him hanging out with friends uptown Saint John.

Brock a vécu la majorité de sa vie à Saint John. Passionné de la technologie, il a décidé, après le secondaire, de poursuivre des études en informatique à l'université du Nouveau Brunswick campus de Fredericton. Cependant, Brock a vite compris que l’informatique n’était pas fait pour lui.  Par contre, son expérience à l’université comprenait un cours de marketing, un sujet qu'il a découvert le passionne vraiment  . Il s’est ensuite immédiatement inscrit au programme de marketing d’entreprise du CCNB à Saint John et a connu un franc succès.  Brock est passionné par le marketing, le graphisme, le web design et la vidéographie.

Dans son  temps libre, Brock pratique le ski et la randonnée. Il est un gourmet gourmand et connaisseur futé de la bière. Les fin de semaines on le retrouve au centre-ville de Saint John avec ces copains, là ou il y a de la culture, de la bonne bouffe et de la bière artisanale.
